Key Features

Why engineers
specify K-12

The K-12 TPU adhesive film is engineered for productivity — low activation temperature reduces energy cost and cycle time, while its clean melt profile eliminates adhesive bleed that would otherwise require rework.
Low Operating Temperature
Activates between 110–120°C — significantly lower than conventional adhesives. Reduces energy consumption, shortens cycle times, and prevents thermal damage to delicate fabrics and substrates.
Excellent Bond Strength
Delivers outstanding peel and shear strength across a wide range of substrates — fabric, leather, TPU, PVC, metal film, and reflective materials — with no primer required for most applications.
Wash & Dry Laundry Resistance
Bonds maintain integrity through repeated machine washing and dry cleaning cycles — essential for apparel, sportswear, and workwear applications where durability over a garment's lifespan is critical.
No Adhesive Leakage
Controlled melt viscosity (300 Pa.s @ 160°C) prevents bleed-through onto finished surfaces. Keeps seam lines clean and eliminates the rework cost associated with adhesive contamination.
Good Elasticity & Flexibility
The TPU chemistry retains stretch and flexibility after bonding — ideal for seamless underwear, activewear, and stretch fabrics where the adhesive must move with the material without cracking or delaminating.
Environmentally Friendly
Solvent-free hot melt formulation — no VOC emissions during processing. Suitable for facilities with strict environmental compliance requirements and for products targeting eco-conscious end markets.

Processing Guide

How to apply the film

01
Select Film Grade & Width
Choose the appropriate thickness (0.10–0.25mm) and width (1–100cm) for your substrate. Thinner gauges suit lightweight fabrics; heavier gauges are used for leather and automotive trim bonding.
02
Position Film Between Substrates
Place the TPU film cleanly between the two layers to be bonded. No primer or pre-treatment required for most fabric, leather, and TPU substrate combinations.
03
Apply Heat & Pressure
Set your machine to 110–120°C operating temperature, 0.5–1.5 kg/cm² pressure, and 10–20 second dwell time. Compatible with fusing machines, heat rollers, flat-bed heat presses, high-frequency machines, laser cutters, and hand irons.
04
Cool & Inspect
Allow the bond to cool to room temperature before handling. The bond line should be clean with no adhesive bleed. Test peel strength to confirm settings are optimal for your specific substrate pair.

Use Cases

Where TPU film
is applied

From high-performance outdoor garments to precision industrial laminates, the K-12 TPU adhesive film delivers consistent performance wherever a clean, flexible, wash-resistant bond is required.
Outdoor Garment
🧥
Seamless Outdoor Garments
Waterproof zippers, seamless pockets, fly seams — clean bonds that flex with the garment through repeated washing cycles.
Sport Shoes
👟
Sport Shoes
Mesh fabric lamination, upper reinforcement, and sole bonding for performance footwear.
Seamless Underwear
Stretch-compatible bonding that moves with the fabric — no stitching, no chafing seam lines.
TPU & Leather Lamination
Strong, flexible bond between TPU films and natural or synthetic leather panels.
Automotive
🚗
Automobile Trims
Interior panel lamination, reflective material bonding, and PVC surface overlay for automotive interiors.
Storage & Handling
6-Month Shelf Life
Unopened rolls maintain full adhesive performance for six months from date of manufacture when stored correctly.
Cool & Dry Conditions
Store in a cool, dry environment below 25°C with controlled humidity. Avoid storage near heat sources, steam, or condensation.
Avoid Direct UV Exposure
Keep rolls wrapped and protected from direct sunlight and UV radiation, which can degrade the TPU matrix and reduce adhesive performance over time.
FAQ

Common questions answered

Process
What thickness should I choose for my application?
+
Use 0.10–0.12mm for lightweight sheer fabrics and seamless underwear. Choose 0.15–0.18mm for standard garment bonding and shoe uppers. Opt for 0.20–0.25mm for heavier substrates such as leather, PVC, automotive trim panels, and industrial laminates.
Can this film be used with a regular iron?
+
Yes. A household or industrial iron set to 110–120°C with a pressing cloth to protect the fabric surface is suitable for small-scale use and sampling. For production, a flat-bed heat press or heat roller machine gives more consistent results.
Is the film compatible with conductive fabrics?
+
Yes. The K-12 TPU film is specified for use with conductive fabric — it bonds without compromising the fabric's surface conductivity when applied at the correct temperature and pressure settings.
Do you supply custom widths narrower than 1cm?
+
Our standard range starts from 1cm. For very narrow tape applications below 1cm, please contact us — we can advise on slitting options or recommend the closest standard narrow-width format for your process.
How long does the bond take to reach full strength?
+
The bond is formed during the 10–20 second dwell under heat and pressure. Full strength is achieved once the assembly cools to room temperature — typically 1–2 minutes. Avoid stress on the bond line during cooling.
